History of the College

The college was founded on 28 October 1977. The task of starting the new college fell on Mr. D.M Ukpe who along with seven teachers and forty seven students took off from Teachers Training College Umuna Orlu in Imo State. Between 1977 and 1982 the college operated in two temporary sites before finding the permanent home in its present location.
Mr. D.M Ukpe handed over to Mr. O.G Bamidele who regime lasted from 1982 - 1984. During this period, accomodation and infrastructural inadequacies were the major challenges.
He was able to attract funding for the constructionn of some classrooms and dormitories from the Federal Government
